Now Booking Class of 2019 {SE MN Senior Portrait Photographer}

I want to take a minute to wish all of these 2018 GRADS a big, heartfelt congratulations! It was truly an amazing experience having each of you in front of my camera for your senior sessions.  Hats of to you and thank you for choosing Photography by Kari.

It’s now time to welcome the Class of 2019 to their Senior year. Who wants to get a jump start on their Senior year? A frequent question asked by parents of upcoming High School Seniors is WHEN should their son or daughter schedule their Senior portrait session for. The majority of the Seniors I work with are photographed the summer/fall prior to the start of their Senior year. From previous experience your  Senior year is often a busy one! For those students active in sports, band, choir, etc. it can be difficult to schedule your Senior’s portrait session between practices, games, and performances once the school year is in session. I strongly encourage Senior families to consider scheduling a 2018 summer session for their 2019 High School Senior. In doing so, you can breathe a little easier knowing you already have one task checked off that “To Do” list that comes along with the Senior year experience.

I am excited to announce that my Summer 2018 calendar is now open for scheduling!   To see more of our senior sessions, click on the  “categories” tab and then click “senior”.

Now for our Senior Special…..  Booking early is important if you want a late summer or early fall session. These will book first and once they’re gone, they’re gone. With that said, mention you saw this blog post and book a June or July Senior Deluxe or Exclusive session, get an additional $50 print credit and get a set of 3, 3×3 Accordion Books with images from your session featured, a value of $100, for a total value of $150.  Appointments are limited and are subject to availability.  No cash value.  Only sessions rescheduled by photographer due to weather will still qualify for special pricing.  Only sessions rescheduled by photographer due to weather will still qualify for special pricing. Any sessions rescheduled by the customer/client must be re-booked at regular rates if the rescheduled date is not in June or July of 2018,  meaning you will not receive the additional $50 print credit nor the 3 Accordion Books. Session retainer fees in full must be paid within 10 days of receiving the invoice and before the session.

Ready to schedule your senior pictures? Our calendar for Summer senior portrait sessions is starting to fill. Call or email us today to get more information or to book your session, 507.951.0640 or kari@photographybykari.com. The Class of 2019…let me help tell YOUR story!

Maddie ’18 {Rochester MN Senior Portrait Photographer}

Maddie and her Mom found us through Google and a mutual friend and really loved how I like to make all my senior sessions super unique and fun and bring out who my seniors are. Which is awesome as I believe  your senior portrait session should make you feel beautiful inside and out.  It’s a monumental time in a senior’s life and I want to capture you as the person you are at this moment.

Maddie really wanted something flowery and naturey, but also with an urban feel so I took her to Lanesboro to use their unique buildings and flowery fields.  It was so humid the night of her session but she newver once complained, but she had also just gotten back from vacation in Florida, so she was likely used to the humidity.  Even with the humidity, we had so much fun with Maddie and her Mom, we even had a little friend join us during her session.  The cat didn’t want to leave and even jumped on her lap.  We couldn’t stop laughing.  A photo with the cat even made her graduation invitation.

Terron ’18 {SE MN Senior Portrait Photographer}

Senior pictures are likely the last time children will have professional portraits made of themselves until their wedding. That’s right – until their wedding. Though this alone seems a perfectly good reason for their parents to have them done, this reasoning is likely not a good reason to the senior boy to get their portraits done. Getting a senior boy to have his picture taken by a professional photographer and be happy about it can be just about impossible. But who doesn’t love a challenge?

I have known and taken Terron’s family portraits since he was about 8, I think. Terron is a really great kid but never been enthusiastic about having his pictures taken. Honestly, I don’t blame him. After all, how much fun can it be to hang out with 2 ladies, one with her camera in your face and the other with a flash in your face for an hour or so? With that said I have yet to come across a senior boy who really, really wanted a session. But, I also have yet to have a senior boy come away from one of our sessions that hasn’t said that wasn’t really that bad. Although, they may all just be being polite. 😉

Anyway, thanks for sticking with us Terron! We enjoyed your shoot and wish nothing but the best in the future. Congratulations!

P.S. I also included some photos of his Mom getting some photos we delivered to her this week from the spring baseball session we did with Terron. Love her priceless reaction, she was so excited for her canvas and custom 3-foot cardboard cutout (it still needs to be popped out from where it was cut so there won’t be any white around it).
