Since it feels so cold outside, I thought I’d share a session from much warmer days… a sunflower mini session.
My favorite captures are those that represent the lovely personalities of my subjects and the relationships they have. These sisters were each so beautifully different! It’s kinda amazing to watch their sisters bond and was so much fun to photograph because these sisters both have such a love for life and their smiles are contagious!
Hope the sunshine and their smiles warm you up on this cold Minnesota evening.
Yesterday Andrea stopped by the studio so we could do Waylon’s 6-month photos. We were able to use some of our new outfits and props for his 6-month portrait session and also did a few Christmas photos since he turned 6 months old on Christmas Day.
Some babies can be shy or cranky at their 6-month session and the pandemic and masks don’t help either. They’ve become aware of their surroundings, and sometimes they take a little while to warm up to the sights and lights of the sets. But Waylon has no fear, and he showed off that handsome smile of his in most of the photos. And look at those, eyes, they lit up the studio.
With having no fear, he’s a completely confident sitter, crawls, and can stand next to something already. He actually has been sitting and standing next to things for a while. He was even doing them when we did his 4-month portraits (will share some of them at the end, too since I never did them when we did them). We had missed doing his 3-month portraits as we had been busy, but kind of glad it happened so we could capture him sitting and standing early (even though he wasn’t totally happy about it). Can’t wait to see what he’s doing at his 9-month session and wonder if he will be walking by then.
Tomorrow we get to meet and photograph the newest member of this wonderful family. Welcoming a new baby is a significant time and I am honored to capture newborn photos for all 3 of their children and also watch them grow with other sessions through the last 3 years.
We did this family session back at the end of September at their beautiful home. It was a gorgeous evening and was such a warm fall day, it felt like summer. Absolutely loved photographing in their element on their porch and barn.
A little late to the blogging this family session. They came in right before we had to shut down last spring. Then once we re-opened, we got busy and I neglected to share many sessions from the spring, summer, and fall. I hope to share as many of the sessions as I can over the next few weeks.
We loved everything about this studio family pet portrait session. Photographing Jill, Terry, and their fur babies, Lucy, Norman, Posey, and Forest was an honor and so much fun. It truly doesn’t get much better than this!
We all love our pets and want to remember them and portraits help celebrate the happiness and joy our pets bring to our lives. Love when people bring their pets with them to sessions or book a session all for their fur baby.
What’s better than one bundle of joy… TWO bundles of joy! TWINS!!
Working with two babies takes much more time than working with one, so my friend, Courtney, came to help assist me and Shelby during the session. It was so nice to have an extra hand with working with two babies. Mr. J and Miss G were so good for our whole session, they let us move and wrap and snuggle them up without stirring.
And when we did photos with Mr. J and Miss G’s older brothers, you could just tell they were so happy and proud. I just loved every moment of this session!
