Happy Memorial Day Weekend!

Summertime is officially here. Well, almost here in Minnesota considering our furnace is still running and we may have a frost advisory tonight. Even though it may be a little chilly this weekend, Maverick is ready for some fun with his new hat from Woof Out West and PupLid. ?

We hope everyone has a wonderful long weekend with friends and family while also taking time to show our appreciation and gratitude for those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. Without these heroes, none of us would live the lives we do today.

Gorgeous Senior {Senior Portraits in Minnesota}

Good Earth Village is beautiful, but it pales in comparison to this gorgeous girl! Meet Makaela, class of 2021 high school senior, soon-to-be-graduate.  Makalea’s senior session got pushed back a little later in the Fall than we had originally planned.  But we so lucked out and got to have a few seasons in one day in Minnesota. We not only got amazing fall color but also some snow on the ground. Furthermore, Mother Nature showed off even more with the beautiful sky and sunset we got that night. The moon even made an early appearance.  It really was breathtaking.

1-Year Old Boy{Rochester Minnesota Cake Smash Photographer}

It seems like it was just yesterday that Mr. O was in our studio for his nine-month photos, and now he’s already back for his first birthday portraits and Mickey Mouse-inspired cake smash session?! Time really does fly by, which is why it is SO important to capture these milestones!

I love having messy cake smash sessions in the studio! This little guy knew how to do it. He had a blast destroying his cake! He also kept wincing when he’d get a big taste of the sugar and wanted to share it with all of us. So cute!

I hope you enjoy the pictures as much as he enjoyed taking them.

Family of 4 {Stewartville Minnesota Family Photographer}

Thinking of adding a family session to a senior session? Your daughter or son is graduating from High school, so what better time than now to get updated family photographs done during this season of your family’s life! Adding a family session to a senior session is a great idea to get your entire family involved. Furthermore, getting a family session in before your soon-to-be adult child goes off to their next chapter of life is always a perfect time to capture your family before it becomes difficult to get everyone together.

I really like it when families decide to do these combined shoots. This family did just that and added a family session during the fall portion of their daughter’s Exclusive Session at Quarry Hill in Rochester, MN. We even took a few individual shots of Alyssa’s little sister. Quarry Hill is such a beautiful location all year long with all the trees, flowers, rocks, bridges, and the pond. And we got so lucky with beautiful fall colors and fall flowers that were blooming, too.

Black Lab in Tulips {Southeast Minnesota Dog Photographer}

Last weekend we were able to get outside for a session and will again this weekend. ? So nice to be back doing outdoors portrait sessions. The grass is so vibrant, the trees are starting to fill out, spring flowers are blooming…. so pretty.

This morning I took our dog, Maverick, out for a walk and noticed our tulips were nearing the end of their bloom time. So I went inside and grabbed my camera and had Maverick pose for a few photos for me before the tulips are gone until next year. He has learned that me grabbing my camera means I am either going outside or am leaving in my vehicle (and he may get to go with), so he gets very excited. I guess getting some treats to pose for some photos isn’t so bad. ?
