Yay! Warm Weather! {Southeast Minnesota Portrait Photographer}

Wow, it’s been awhile since I have posted on the blog.  We have been pretty busy lately, so I have just been posting to Facebook recently, I guess. I need to go back to posting here, again.

What better way that with some quick photos I took last night on what feels like the first really nice day in forever here in MN.  It felt so good to be outside with great temps, no wind, and no cold weather gear on.  😉  I took full advantage of the day, lunch outside on the patio at Whistle Binkies, ice cream at the DQ after picking up my cousins from school, and some photos around the farm with Jackson…

Jackson loves it when we roam around the farm until I put the camera up to my eye and point the camera at him, he likes to ignore me.  No matter what crazy sound I make or if I mention treat or his ball, he still pretends I a not there.  But if I put the camera down, he will look right at me.    They are just too smart some days!

A Late Night Birth { Spring Valley MN Photographer}

What an honor and a privilege it was to be invited to witness and document this birth.

There is nothing more special and life-changing  than a baby being born. 

 

Here are some shots of how the night unfolded……

 

The one word that keeps coming to mind whenever I think of  Courtney’s labor is peaceful. It’s probably not the word she would use describe it. However, everything about Courtney’s labor & birth was very calm and relaxed.  Even when things got a little nerve wracking with the baby’s breathing, everyone was so calm.  He ended up needing a little extra help breathing for the first day, but I’m happy to report, he is doing great now.

Congratulations, Ryan and Courtney! He’s perfect!  Thanks, again, for asking me to document this special time in your life.

Spring Mini Sessions {SE MN Children’s Portrait Photographer}

Especially after today’s weather, who’s ready for Spring?  I know I am. I am especially looking forward to Spring and Summer with the warmer temps,  outdoor shoots, and blooming flowers.

Being that Spring is on our minds, I thought it was a great day to announce the Spring Mini Sessions at Photography by Kari. I will share some sample images this weekend with the backdrops and some cute little models.

Blizzard 2014 {Spring Valley MN Portrait Photographer}

Oh my goodness…………snow, snow,  and more snow!  While most of us are getting sick of winter this year at this point, we have to admit it sure is pretty outside.

 

Since I was stuck at home and stuck at the door really, Jackson was my model.  He loved being outside at first and for those that know him, know that he pretty much always carrying something in his mouth….

After the fun started to wear off, he looks like he is wondering why are we outside in this?  Fine, I’ll model for you!  Starting to hate me…K a few more…..Okay, really, I am done, I want to go inside and lay by the wood stove!  And the next day.  All taken through a window from inside my warm house…. lol

Love this one and what the sun setting through the trees did to the icicles.
