National Adorable Children and Pawsitively Adorable Contest Winners {SE MN Photographer}

We are proud to announce we had 9 winners in the National portion of the Adorable Children and Pawsitively Adorable contests. The National portion of the contest took place at the lab and was judged by a panel of judges based on quality, appearance, charm, expression, and personality.

In the National Pawsitively Adorable contest…

We had First Place for Me & My Human. They won a $100 Visa gift card.

We had Second Place for Newborns. They won a $75 Visa Gift Card.

We had a Third Place for Dogs. They won a $50 Visa Gift Card.

We had an Honorable Mention for dogs. Super exciting as this is my dog, Maverick. We won a $25 Visa Gift Card.

We had an Honorable Mention in Buddies. They won a $25 Visa Gift Card.

In the National Adorable Children contest…..

We had a Second Place for Bloopers. They won a $75 Visa Gift Card.

We had a Third Place for Bloopers. They won a $50 Visa Gift Card.

We had a Third Place for 13 Months- 2 Years. They won a $50 Visa Gift Card.

We had an Honorable Mention for 9-12 Years. They won a $25 Visa Gift Card.

The lab where these took place is having some website issues, but as soon as we can see the other winners, I will post them here, too. Congratulations, everyone! Thanks for participating and voting! =)

And since we did not do the local portion of the Pawsitively Adorable as it was mostly my assistant’s dogs and family pets, and I had not posted the Pawsitively Adorable images, these are the other images we submitted. So they each received a 16×20 print from their session.

Thank you for voting us Best of the Best for the  2021 Fillmore County Journal Reader’s Choice Awards. Without our wonderful clients, we would not be able to do what we love. We are so grateful for your continuous support over the last 16 years and honored to have been named 2021 Best of the Best Photographer in Fillmore County. Because these awards are determined by the community, they are treasured by ALL of us at Photography by Kari.

Happy New Year! {SE MN Portrait Photographer}

Goodbye, 2020! Hello, 2021! It’s a new year and as the majority of us, I’m happy to turn the page from 2020 to 2021!

This year hasn’t been easy for many people. It has brought a lot of challenges. But through it all, I believe we can all remember that there is always hope and a bright side. I think we all were able to learn a few lessons this past year, but one positive from 2020 was that it forced people to really slow down since we had nowhere to go and really appreciate the moments with friends and family. I know I’m a homebody normally, but am truly looking forward to being able to spend more time with friends and family in 2021 as we hopefully put an end to this pandemic.

At this time of reflection, we would also like to thank everyone for their continued support and for trusting us to capture your family’s treasured moments. Because of you, we’re still here and are looking forward to our 2021 photo sessions.

With most of our shoots in 2020 being outdoors, the studio got a bit disorganized, so we’ve been putting some time into organizing to get ready for our 2021 sessions. Today, Rylee and I spent the first day of 2021 organizing some of our backdrops that had taken over our cabinets in the front room, shelves in the back, and even in Rubbermaid tubs….they were everywhere. But now they will all be in one spot in this moveable cart that also has photos of the drops in front of them so we won’t have to guess which backdrop we are grabbing. Should make grabbing backdrops much easier.

Happy Halloween {Southern MN Dog Portrait Photographer}

For the first time in 11 years, we didn’t do Halloween photos at the studio. Seems odd to not be busy taking photos of all the kiddos dressed up, so I did some composites of Maverick instead. ?Happy Halloween, everyone!?????????????????
