I am Kari McGill, I'm the owner and photographer at Photography by Kari. Just a little bit about me. I'm a Southeast Minnesota based photographer specializing in newborn, family, children, and senior photography. I have always enjoyed taking pictures and valued documenting my family's life with photographs and scrapbooks after I had a car accident in 1996 and became paralyzed to give me something to do. However, in 2005, I turned my passion for photography into a profession and in 2010, we expanded by opening a studio in Spring Valley, MN.

Life moves fast, sometimes a little too fast. It's my job to capture a tiny bit of it so that in 5 or 10 years you can remember every detail and tell your family's story for generations to come to share in a tangible form to re-live memories together over the generations.

I am so thankful that I get to spend time with wonderful people and get to do something I love while capturing memories for my clients at all stages of their lives. I am enjoying every minute of it- owning my own business and taking photos!

Working on and in my business brings me so much joy. I am a hard worker who loves her business and my clients. So much, so that it's hard for me to separate my business from my personal life. However, in my off time, I enjoy hanging out with friends, family, and my dog. Pictured on the top is our dog, Jackson who passed away on September 30th, 2019 and on the bottom is our newest puppy, Maverick. You can also likely find me at my cousin's sporting events taking photos, at a Mexican restaurant, or at a Kenny Chesney concert.
